We had a great group to begin the William Morris project despite the snow. I even got an email from the author of the book wishing us a great time on it, and asking us to keep her posted on our progress. It is really fun when the exciting events in our favorite shoppe reach halfway round the globe to Australia. The Internet is a great thing when it works like that. If you want to join us there is still time, just come on in and I'll get you going.
This Tuesday is hand stitchers club, we will be experimenting with shibori dying. Bring some white fabric, a seal able baggie, and your hand sewing things. I will supply paint. Next Tuesday is the Art Club, and we will be working on asymmetrical compositions. If you have the book, our exercise is on page 24. Bring fabric scraps and base materials. Call or e-mail this week if you want more information.
Workshops coming soon, and with room for registrations, include Duck Duck Goose, a flying geese table runner from Scrap Therapy, Mystery Dessert, a large quilt with a range of black white and greys that is a real stunner, and the re scheduled Rag Bag. The Rag Bag is on the 15th, from 12-4 and will be basically done when you leave. It's a fabulous flannel purse that you will want to whip up for everyone.
This Friday and Saturday the special is 20% off the Crazy Quilt Kits. The new year is a great time to begin something new, and with some of the exciting surface design materials coming soon to the shoppe, you might do well to play with the idea of Crazy Quilting. There is alot that can be done in both traditional and contemporary styles of Crazy Quilting. I know you will have fun with our kits, and even more with the new materials when they arrive. I will tell you more about the new materials closer to when they arrive. keep stitching!!
