Our New Block of the Month for 2012 is called Beautiful Valley

This stunning original design by Diana Louie celebrates the natural world here in the Hudson Valley. The picture blocks are worked in simple embroidery with optional coloring done with Inktense Pencils ( which are permanent on fabric when set )

These blocks may be set with a simple sashing, or with the string pieced alternate block. We have a finishing kit in Blues and Greens like our sample available, or you may go with a more traditional string style and use your stash. We will meet on the First Saturday at 9 am, and monthly class fee is only $10.00. ( You can also pay in full before Jan. 31 and save a bundle )

Our Handstitchers club has voted to move our monthly meeting to the second Tuesday, and in January we will be finishing projects - a great time to join us an see all the wonderful things that have been going on.

Heart Strings Pillow Slip January 12, 26, & Feb 9, 1-4

This Light hearted project will get you through the dark of winter, with a colorful heart, a striking quilting pattern, and a confetti pieced border, you will fall in love!! This is the first in a series of seasonal pillow slip projects. Get one form and interchange the slip seasonally. $54.00

Rail Fence lap Quilt January 17 & 31, 10-1

Every quilter should make at least one of these visually exciting quilts. The strip piecing is easier than the bold pattern would suggest putting it well within the reach of beginners. This is a great ‘go to’ pattern for the guys in your life, and works well with Team or school colors.
