We will be closed on August 7, 8 & 11. That means that there will be no special this weekend and no new post the Tuesday we are closed. However, we will have super specials the following weekend for our four year anniversary, but more on that later. Before vacation, Hand stitchers will meet on Tuesday and work on the setting the Mariner's Compass we have been piecing. There is also a cutting workshop for Scrap Therapy Thursday. This one is full. The next one, Sept 3, is also filling fast, if we need to we can do an afternoon session on September 3, 3-5pm. Remember that the cutting workshop is a prerequisite to the Joan Ford workshops with Wiltwyck Guild this Fall. When we come back from vacation, the Scrappy Trails workshop will begin on the 13th, and the Art quilt club will have its meeting on the 18th, please note the change in the usual date. Diane Johnson will run the sewing caddy workshop on the 19th, this one is also filling fast, please call or stop by to reserve your spot.
Some of you will be glad to know that we have received a shipment of YLI Silk Ribbons. In addition, the Prairie Braid Foundations that were on back order have arrived. I am holding a few packages for those of you who took the workshop and requested more but there are now plenty for everyone.
So, by now you are wondering about the anniversary sales. Well, it has been four years since I took over the shoppe, so one fourth off is significant.(in more ways that one!) All regular priced fabrics on the bolt are 25% off on the 14 and 15 of August. You would have just enough time if you need something to finish your quilt for the fair!! Sale includes batiks, black and whites, reproductions, fun prints, Holiday fabrics, flannels and wool felt, Thimbleberries, extra wide backings and even organic canvas in several colors. You won't want to miss it. In addition, we will be doing a key tag drawing, so you want to fill up yours, use it, and get it on the top of the pile. The winner will be getting a goodies bag with on books, patterns and more on the theme of summer, including a clamp on Ott light to simulate the summer daylight at your sewing machine all winter too! The light alone retails for over $50.00. I have one of these that I use clamped to the table I work at, or clamped to my quilting frame. You can direct the light right where you need it and the appliance is small enough to take with you when your sewing goes on the road or to class. You will be amazed at how much difference a really good light can make. Get those key tags filled and used, only one person is going to win this. If you don't have a tag in the basket, you can't be that person. Good luck to you all and see you all soon!!
