New Look

I hope you all had a nice Holiday, the break from school seemed very fast, I think my daughter could use another full week. You will notice that the Blog has a new look. I think this is much more cheerful, and the new typeface is easier to read. Feel free to let me know what you think. As we gear up for the summer, I felt that a change was called for. I am looking into a link to a Internet photo album for the shoppe too, in which we can post class projects, not just our samples, but maybe even some of yours. Speaking of samples, I have posted a shot of the Triple Dip Quilt. This is a Scrap Therapy Project, and made from Nine patches and Four patches if you can believe that. The patterns are in, and I think you will want to make all three projects that come in this one. This block is easy to scale up too, if a six inch size feels small. I took this image as it hung on the wall of the shoppe, and the photo, not the quilt is crooked. But the scale and the vanilla, chocolate and strawberry colors show pretty well. My daughter decided that the solid color inner border was the hard chocolate topping you can pour out and it hardens, and the brown and white outer border looks like chocolate syrup on top of whipped cream. Who knew ?

We have some good things coming up, please register early so we can prepare properly. Both Art Quilters and Egg Money are this week, if you haven't been attending and want to let us know and we will get you set up. The Mom and Me Doll quilt scheduled to begin on Saturday has no signups. We will move this project to the summer schedule and hopefully better timing for the kids and thier Moms to get into.

I should also remind the Crazy Quilt Members that there is no April Meeting due to Easter. You will be meeting instead on May 9. That is the day to bring your projects for the Crazy Quilt Club Show we will hang in the gallery. More on that in a minute. That is also the day of the Rose Ball workshop. I need to know by the end of this week if you are wanting to attend that class so I can order the Rose Buds.

The Crazy Quilt Club presents Class Projects in the Feathers Gallery at the Village Fabric Shoppe. The Show will hang from May 12 - May 30. Tell all your stitching friends. This is our best attended club, and also one of the most prolific. They have done some incredible work and we are thrilled to mount this exhibition so they can share it with you all. The gallery is open during store hours for your viewing pleasure.
