The winners from the Paduca AQS Quilt show have been posted online. Since I know that most of you didn't get to go, the link is Americanquilter.com/shows You can cut and paste it to your search engine and see all the top prize winners. It is inspiring. I am also looking forward to the Northern Star Quilt Show this weekend. Sharon Schamber is the featured artist. The opportunity to see her works up close is one not to be missed. She has won Best of Show in Paduca (not this year ) Houston, and several other major shows. Again there is information on their website, http://www.northernstarquilters.com/ I'll see you there on Sunday.
At our own shoppe, The May club meetings promise to be good, Crazy Quilt Club will meet twice, on the 9 and the 30. It just so happens that we have arranged for those to be the pick up and drop off dates for the Crazy Quilt Show in our gallery. Please bring your pieces ready to display, and with your name on it. In May the Handstitchers will continue to work on a mariners compass, and the Art group will be coiling for flat mats or three dimensional vessels. This Saturday Thangles will have it's monthly get together. If you are planning to order a finishing kit and have not done it yet, please do so, so that the fabrics you want are still available.
Two more items before you get to find out the special, first on May 9, The Rose Ball workshop is full. If you don't have a supply list, contact Diane or myself. The Roses will be at the shoppe for you. Also the Nadelstern Kaleidoscope still has room. This distincive style of piecing will forever change the way you look at big busy prints and stripes. It is not as difficult as it looks, as you really let the fabric do all the hard parts. We will take you through it, one piece at a time. The Photo is one I did, yours can be as complex or simple as you desire.

There are four new batiks in at the shoppe, they are wonderful, a quiet (for a batik )deep rich blue, a hand paint in saturated summer tones, and two wonderful pieces in a color way they named Wild Asters. They are just the thing to perk up your stash or a new summer project. They are 10% off on Friday and Saturday.
Call email or come by for more information on any of the upcoming events or workshops.
