It feels good to say Spring, even if it is just the title of the new schedule. Spring Semester, Spring schedule, and I am getting those late winter longings for bright colors. It happens to me every year some time in February. This year it is hitting a bit early, but we have had more winter than usual for this time of year. It is snowing lightly again while I am writing this. Color can greatly change your outlook, and bright spring colors can really help cure the winter blues.
The new schedule is full of great places to play with color, from a Paula Nadelstern style Kaleidoscope, to fun festive napkins for your table, and everything in between. Hard copy is at the shoppe, and the website is being updated as I type. Remember that all this week is Registration week, and if you sign up for a class, you may take 15% off all your supplies for that class. In past years, many of you have had trouble with making it in on Saturday, so we will try this way and hopefully more of you can take advantage of the discount.
There is also a really impressive show in our gallery this week titled,"What I did Last Year" and you all were busy. Please come in and place your ballot for the viewers choice award. I know you will be inspired by these pieces, and hopefully the new samples for our workshops too.
One last bit to fill you in on before I close for now, I received an e-mail from the President of Thangles, stating that he had seen the photo on our blog of my version of the Buck a Block quilt and that is was one of "the prettiest we have seen". It made me feel really good, and made me wonder if the president of Thangles gets the February need for bright color too. See it in person on our classroom. It is not too late for you to join. May your quilts color your world joyfully!! See you soon.
