This Saturday is Valentine's Day. Whether or not you have a sweetheart, it is a good time to reflect on what you love, where your passions lie - and hopefully indulge them! What does this have to do with Quilting? -Everything. To those of us who have taken up this pastime, fabric can provide many of the same benefits as a romantic relationship. Do you get a thrill of anticipation when you hear of a new fabric by your favorite designer? Do you feel an empty longing when you haven't sewn in a few days? Do you fall asleep at night with colors and patterns filling your mind with possibilities for the future (projects)? Can you resist touching and caressing your stash with loving gentleness? I am here to tell you that this is OK. Feeling passionate about fabric and quilts, even obsessive, is not going to do you harm. Smoking cigarettes is another story, but with a quilt obsession, you might even make something useful. So on this Valentine's Day, celebrate not just who you love, but the activities that you love too. Our Special this weekend is on the Heart Shaped Yo Yo Maker. It sells for $5.75, but Friday and Saturday it is only $3.00. A single heart shaped Yo Yo, trimmed with lace and put on a pin back is a great way to let all the significant people in your life know just how much you value them.
On another note, the website has been experiencing some difficulties, so I have the February Schedule posted here. Hopefully it will be resolved quickly, in the meantime there is still room in all workshops for you to register. (even the Swedish Hearts!) The full schedule will be up soon and is available now in hard copy at the Shoppe. Follow your Passion!!
