Ok so I did alot of cooking last week, but besides making the occasional pot of coffee, I haven't had to do more than heat leftovers since Thanksgiving. Good thing too, the season is getting busier by the minute.
Handstitchers meets on the second, after we finish our scissors fob project we will all be having lunch together, (I'll have a turkey sandwich!) It is a good time to review our year, have some fun and a few treats. Feel free to bring a dessert to share, but you need to provide your own lunch. We do have a fridge and a microwave if you need to heat anything.
The Facts and Fabrications end of project basting party is this Saturday. Please call to let us know if you are coming, if we are basting your quilt, and if we are, whether you are planning to machine or hand quilt.
Blockbusters, our art quilt forum is moving from night meetings to day. There are many of you who would like to attend but can't join us in the evenings. Beginning with our next meeting, December 9, We will meet at 10 am until noon. This time we will be making an ornament/ gift tag using fusible and fussy cut fabric. If you are planning to join us call or e-mail for a supplies list.
This Saturday is Winterfest in Red Hook. There will be lots of holiday activities including carolers, and I will have great sales to help celebrate. 40 % off Holiday fabrics, and 15% off selected gift items, books, calendars and DVD's. Gift items range from fancy collector rotary cutters to quilt themed blank books and kids books. You may want to get your wish list filled out before Saturday so your loved ones can take advantage of the sales.
We also have finished items, from placemats and baby quilts to wall art and bed quilts. When you shop local you support our local economy and keep Red Hook and Dutchess County going strong. When you spend, this holiday season, make it count!! Come in and see what we have to offer.
