Still time for a handmade Holiday

As the Holidays loom closer and closer, the season gets busier by the moment. We have gifts for the sewer, quilter and crafter, and if deciding the perfect gift is still too tricky, a gift certificate will fit the bill. I know very few quilters who wouldn't enjoy a shopping spree in their favorite fabric shoppe!! If you would prefer as gifts for yourself or others, we also have finished items for sale. Beautifully handcrafted, by local fabric artists, and ready to be cherished on bed wall or table, we have something for everyone.

If you are still working on gifts, you may want to know about the pre-printed panels that we carry. Cut to size, layer, and quilt or tie and the runner, place mats, or even throw quilt is done in no time. Especially the non-sewers on your list will be astonished at how talented you are!! We have a beautiful postage stamp style, with indigo and conversation prints, a reproduction reds allover, and newly arrived pre printed Dear Jane blocks. The Dear Jane are sized to the genuine quilt blocks and done in prints that reproduce the original, so you can create all sorts of Dear Jane goodies for you favorite quilter, or yourself. - totes, sewing accessories, even coasters, and garments with the Dear Jane Flair. Your imagination is the only limit. Those of you in Scrap Therapy will be excited to know that they are sized the same as the large square for that system - the possibilities are huge!! All of our Pre prints are on sale this Saturday, for 15% off. ( We have pre prints that create a teddy bear, a calico puppy, and Humpty Dumpty too.) Also, all items under our tree are 15% off through the remainder of December 24. Stock there is limited and items may be added as we approach the last minute - so visit often, or encourage your loved ones to do so - preferable with your holiday wish list in hand.

How do you get to Carnegie Hall? or Houston, or Quilt National? ----Practice!
This week one of the Internet lists I belong to had a brief discussion of natural ability vs acquired skills. I believe (after teaching art in the public schools and elsewhere for many years) that the ones who really succeed at creative endeavors are the ones who nurture any creative impulse, regardless of the "natural ability" of the individual. This means that ANYONE can learn to create beautiful and original quilts and fabric art. All it really takes is the desire to do it, and the time to practice. The old adage is right. Your task for Creativity Central is to take five minutes each day to acknowledge the creative things you do, delicious baked goods and beautiful wrapped gifts included! - and vow to get back to the fabrics after the Holidays. - maybe by joining us for Blockbusters at its new time, Second Tuesdays 10-12. See you soon!
