I am having the family at my house for Thanksgiving. I love to host this holiday because to me it celibrates abundance. Even in a year when the ecomony is in trouble, this day is full of abundance, lots of food, lots of family, and lots of leftovers. Especially when times are tough, we need to remeber to be thankful for what we have, family and friends who care, food in our bellies, a roof over our heads, and for most all of you reading this blog, a favorite pastime that creates beautiful things that keep us warm. As the weather turns colder and night comes early, my thoughts always run to new projects to stitch - often as gifts for those same friends and family. There are several new books that have arrived this week that will have you itching to try something new. Feathers Friends by Jette Nielsen will have you dreaming of spring with all the birds to paper piece, Batik Gems by Laurie Schifrin celibrates great fabrics with simple elegant designs in multiple sizes, and Celtic Fantasy by Ricky Timms is a stunning pattern including pre printed freezer paper templates. Don't miss this for yourself, or for a quilting friend as a holiday gift.
Since we will be closed Thursday thru Saturday, I am giving you a holiday treat, All books - including the new ones - calendars and DVD's are 10% off on Tuesday and Wednesday. There are some wonderful older titles too. Give yourself a gift of some browsing time early in the week, your stress levels will stay lower and you will appreciate your abundance more. Enjoy your Turkey, and may you be blessed with lots of leftovers!!
