Say Thank You to our Veterans

While enjoying the day off from school, please take a moment to thank our veterans, the ones who have given so deeply to protect our freedoms. It is very important that we let them know. The Quilts of Valor have been sent, but if you still want to take part in this program you can go to the Quilts of Valor website and make a contribution.

Our gallery is now home to finished quilted items for sale. This time of year, and in the current economy, many people are trying harder to keep their holidays home made and their spending local. The shoppe has many talented fabric artists who have more items at home than they know what to do with. Come in to see what is here, and if you have finished and well made items to add then see me for the proper form to fill out and for help with pricing.

For Creativity Central this week, two news items, the first is a bit of sadness. Those of you who read Quilting Arts magazine will recognize the name of Julie Caprara. Well she has recently lost control of a long illness and passed away. She was a prominent member of the Opus School of Textiles in the UK. She will be missed. The second news item is much cheerier, the winners from Houston are posted online so that those of us who didn't get to go can see them. Pick a time when you can spend a bit browsing because there is inspiration here in every piece. See them at http://www.quilts.com/

Two last bits of business, first the Blockbusters meeting for this evening is cancelled. I injured my ankle over the weekend and simply cannot keep on my feet for the extra time. I will try to phone the regular attendees today. And second, this Saturday, Christmas Prints and panels are 20 % off. Yes there is still time to make gifts and decorating items, ask us about some of the cute quick projects we have available. See you soon.
