Happy New Year

A new year is a great time to start a new project. We have the new Block of the month beginning on Saturday, at 9 am. If you want to sew the blocks here then bring rotary equipment, basic sewing supplies with neutral thread. It will meet always on the first Saturday with sewing time available after the meeting proper. If you can't make a meeting let us know and we will hold your materials till you can get here. This is a great program. If you haven't registered please do so, its not too late to join.

If you are new to quilt making or want to learn a versatile and fun quilt block, and how to finish it all the way through machine quilting and binding, then sign up for the Kaleidoscope Block Quilt. It is three sessions, Jan 9, 23, and Feb 6, from 10-1, $45.00. It is being run by Nancy Shackleton, who has a show hanging in our Gallery. Come by and see her wonderful work and get to know her through her textiles.

Also coming is the Carpenters Wheel Quilt. This traditional block has been updated and simplified into a one block medallion quilt that is a great class for a confident beginner, or an experienced quilt maker looking to make a large scale piece in a hurry. Class is on Jan.9 & 23, from 6:30-9:30. Join Ginny King for this class for only $30.00.

The Special for this Saturday, Jan 5, is 20% off Thimbleberries yardage. These traditionally inspired prints blend well with country and lodge decor, and many can be used in reproduction quilts. Many of these are not available any more, so if you love thimbleberries don't miss your chance to add these to your stash. Lastly, we are currently preparing the schedule of workshops for February through May. We have a number of exciting things planned, but we are open to your suggestions. If you and a few Friends would just love a particular thing please tell us. We are here for you, and with the very talented group of instructors here we can accommodate nearly any project you are interested in. Thanks to them and you, and together we are all going to make this the best year ever at The Village Fabric Shoppe. Happy New Year!!
