feels like spring

Just when we are all tired of the snow we are blessed with a day like today. It is already nearly 50 degrees, and still getting warmer. The warmth makes me crave bright spring colors, and there are several cheerful new fabrics in that will satisfy that for you too.

I want to remind those of you who are signed up for the Kaleidoscope class set to begin tomorrow that you need your fabrics before class begins. Class starts at ten, which is opening time for the shoppe as well, so if you need to shop it is better to do so today.

If you are considering taking the Yo Yo bear, remember that you have a choice of day or evening workshop on the 14th and 28th. If you have already signed on for this fun project please be sure we know which session you want.

Handstitchers and Blockbusters meet today.

I also want to let you know that our new block of the Month kicked off well this past Saturday. These programs are designed to provide not only quilting information, but in this case historical background, help with color, and support that keeps you quilting. Some of our members have worked every block of the month since I have the shoppe. It is a great group, we have fun and share alot. If you can't make the local guild meetings perhaps you can get to these once a month, or one of our other great clubs. Call or stop by the shoppe for full information. 845 758-8541

As many of you know, the arts are very important to me and my family. With this in mind I want to call your attention to a local event on January 12. The Cocoon Theater in Rhinebeck is having a free open house at 3 pm. My daughter will be performing, as will many of the troupe. Cocoon is a small theater that not only offers performances, but classes for adults and children. They need the support of their community. For more information, contact them at www.cocoontheater.org, or (845) 876-6470.

This Saturday, the special is on selected patterns. When you buy any two yards of homespuns or flannel you may take 50% off chenille or rag edge patterns. Take a ten percent discount on chenille cutting tools as well. We know this super warm weather won't last. Winter will come back soon and there is very little that is warmer that a chenille or flannel rag quilt for snuggling in the cold winter weather that is bound to return. See you soon.
