Coming in January, we have three great workshops. First, I told you last week about the Yo Yo Bear. Enough of you asked that we are adding a daytime session. Watch this space for the announcement. If you call and get on the class list I will even call you personally with the information. The second great workshop is for the enlarged and simplified version of Carpenters Wheel. This is a one block quilt that is just stunning. It is on the 9th and 23 of January, from 6:30-9:30, $30.00. Join Ginny King for some fun quilting time as you recover from the season.

This is wallhanging version of the Kaleidoscope Block Quilt. This workshop introduces our new instructor, Nancy Shackelton. You may know her from the Sew n Vac that used to be here in Red Hook. She has most recently won ribbons at the Dutchess Heritage Quilt Show. She has agreed to bring some of her other pieces to our gallery so you can get to know her work. This workshop will run on Jan. 9, 23 and Feb. 6, from 10 am - 1. It costs $45.00. What is special here is that Nancy will take you all the way through basting and machine quilting and binding. If you are a beginner quilter this is a great choice of workshop. It is easy to make using a kaleidoscope ruler to cut and with Eleanor Burn's book to give you yardage information for any size you could want you will love this project. Even seasoned quilters will have fun with the coloring pages in the book for you to copy, to help you choose colors and play with the design. This block is even set up on the quilting software we have here at the Shoppe, so you can come here and sit and play with colors and arrangements, then print out a yardage chart to keep. Super!!!
Lastly I want to remind you that we will be closed for the Christmas Holiday on the 25-27th, and I will be counting inventory on the 28th and 29th, and closed again on New Years Day. have a great Holiday!!
