Holiday Time is Here!!

I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving. The Holiday Season is officially upon us, and to kick it off, all holiday fabrics are 20% off this Saturday, Dec.1 . In addition, family and friends can come in and take 15% off the price of anything you have put on your wish list. This Saturday is a big day, We have our last Thangles meeting form 9-10, Then, Rustic Winter from 10-1, and It is also Winterfest here in Red Hook, culminating in a tree lighting at 5 pm.

I put together one of "Just Four Fun", the new four fabric four yard quilt, it took less than four hours. There is a photo of it here, on the table in the classroom, you can get an idea of the scale, a really large quilt in no time at all. The fabric packs are mostly holiday themed, and cost $25.00, including the instructions.

I need to let you know that the Blended Medallion workshop has been postponed in order for us to acquire the perfect toille for the center. In its place we offer a super fun Yo-Yo bear. He uses the small yo-yo maker from clover, and has a needle felted head and hands. The workshop will be run by Diane Johnson, and be on Jan 14 & 28, from 6:30-9 pm, for $25.00. If you haven't tried the Yo Yo maker yet, it eliminates all the cutting of circles, saving a large amount of time. My seven year old made this Bunny version of the project.

I want to mention a few things coming up early in December, The handstitchers will meet on the 4th, from 10-12 and work on the Lilies and Roses block. The Roses are made from Bullion knots, so you will need a long thin needle with little bulging at the eye. I use a large straw needle. You may want to bring a doodle cloth to practice on. On Saturday the 8th, the satellite group will meet to go over the grapevine wreath.

The Border stripe runner workshop is on the 5th. This is a super easy project that can be adapted to fit any length table, or even shortened to make a set of place mats. This looks like you worked harder than you did. Learn how and finish your holiday gifting quickly and easily. This is something you can still make and even have enough time to ship out to the relatives. We have more than a dozen striped fabrics that would work for this project so you can match any decor. Please call and reserve your spot for any and all workshops you are interested in, remember that if we don't have enough of you on the list we can't run it. We would hate for your workshop to get postponed or worse just because you didn't let us know you wanted it. See you all soon.
