Liqutex is Here!!

I have been waiting for this for a few months and it's finally here. The Liquitex Surface Design Center. It is a line of soft bodies acrylic paints, inks and mediums intended to be used on fabric and other fibers (battings, interfacing, paper, even fusible ) Now we stock the supplies needed for many of the methods of altering your fabrics that you see in the books and magazines. No more rummaging around the Art Store wondering if this is the right thing. The range of techniques that these acrylics can be used for is astounding. I feel a summer series of workshops coming on. Come in soon to take advantage of some introductory offers and pick up the color charts.

Our Handstitchers Club will meet next on February 2. They will be beginning a small sample of hand smocking that will be the flap on a small purse. Supply list and a photo for this project is at www.clubsupplies-VFS.blogspot.com This new blog is exclusively for my club supply lists. They are indexed by club, project and date so that you can access them even far in the future. I am hoping that this makes it easy for everyone to get what they need and be involved. If you join one of our clubs it would be a good idea to add the new blog to your favorites list. You will soon be able to click on the link from the Club Scene section of our website too. (the new schedule is being put up there this week - I have written copies at the shoppe )

Early Bird Spring Registration week is February 9-13. If you pay your registration fee this week, you may take 20% off your class supplies. I will also be doing a demonstration of Stenciling with Painstiks on the 13th, at 11 am. These are so much fun, and the effect is wonderful. As soon as you see them in action you will want to sign up for the workshop, and make one of the projects. Stenciling with Paintstiks, Feb 25, 11-1, then several workshops that could use your hand stenciled fabrics include - In the Pocket tote bag, - Fly Away Scrap Therapy ,- and Batik Garden Path Dates are on the website as this post is getting long. Lastly, the special is 20% off muslin, bleached and unbleached. Great for stenciling, painting, Shibori,& as fabric foundations as well as the standard ways to use quilting fabrics. See you soon.
