William Morris and Shibori supplies

With the holiday next week, I will be taking a few days off, we will be closed from the 23rd to the 28th, and again on New Years Day. Hard to believe that this year is nearly over. 2010 should be a really great one, we have lots of exciting things coming that you will hear about more in the next few posts, but for today I want to remind you that you can still sign up for the William Morris BOM, the initial meeting will be January 2, 9 am. This project is so beautiful and elegant - and easier than you think to create.

I also want to let everyone know that the Hand stitchers Club will meet at 10 am on January 5, and we will do a short exploration of Shibori. This dye/paint /discharge method uses hand gathers in the fabric to act as resists and can create some stunning effects. If you would like to join us, you need a piece of white or light colored fabric, not bigger than a fat quarter, strong basting thread, snips, a good hand needle (your sashiko ones are super) and a seal able bag to carry home the wet fabric. I will supply the fabric paints.

Lastly, since I will only be open one day next week, Tuesday, all Christmas books and patterns, and all calendars are 40% off on that day. Be safe and happy!!
