Let it Snow!!

As I write this it is snowing. Not Just flurries, but a real snow. It is very pretty right now, the tree branches are covered and it is sticking to the roof. As long as I have an ice scraper in the car it is fine with me. The drive home is a straight run and less than a mile so even if the salt trucks don't come out I should get home fine - and it finally feels like the holiday season. I find myself excited to contemplate a weekend snowed in with a few good projects to work on. It does however remind me to share with you the snow day plan for workshops here. If the Red Hook Schools are closed or delayed day classes will be rescheduled. If it is a non-school day, check the blog by 8 am, and phone calls will be made if at all possible. Evening workshops are at the discretion of the instructor, again we will try to call by three pm, but again check the blog if in doubt. Now--- on to all the good things coming up-as long as there isn't too much snow.

Art Club is meeting this Tuesday, the books are in if you need one, please bring your book, your notebook and any works in progress. Pillow Blossoms workshop is Thursday, and Crazy Quilt Club is on Saturday. All kinds of fun!! Also, there is still room on our tree for a few more ornaments if you haven't contributed yet. Here is website to check out for some really cool ornaments to inspire you. They are all based on the folded star from way back when, but these take it to another level. www.dustyoakornaments.com We have also added a new session on the rag bag since several who were supposed to attend were ill. Those who did attend went home finished except for the washing to fray the Raggy edges. The new date is January 15, noon- 4.

If you need to ship gifts and need boxes or bubble wrap, please just ask, I have lots of both that I would love to give away. It will save me a trip to the recycle center, and could save you little money. For those of you who are ready to wrap your gifts, ribbons by the yard are 10% off this weekend. And the last tidbit for this week, the Quilt Index has been updated. It is now the largest online quilt collection, with lots of great photos and history. www.quiltindex.com Be prepared to spend some time with this site. - Perfect for a snowy evening. Enjoy!!
