This week promises to be a busy one for me. My entries for the Dutchess Heritage Quilt Show have been finished and delivered, but we are vending at the show so I am not finished with the getting ready. The preparations for a show are both exciting and hard work. Friday is setup day, and the storefront will close at 2 pm so I can pack and get the booth set up. On Saturday we will be on regular hours, my husband will hold down the fort while I am at the show. Be nice to him. If you need discount admission coupons or raffle tickets, I have them. (see the entirely hand stitched quilt at http://www.fdquiltshow.org/ ) There is no regular special, but check our booth at the show for some exciting things and a few really good deals.
On Tuesday, hand stitched will meet at 10. As that day is judging day for the show, many of our regular members cannot join us. We will continue hand quilting, and possibly begin working with Japanese Sashiko stitching if those in attendance are ready. I have printed panels, threads, needles, thimbles, and a great new book by Sylvia Pippen that combines Sashiko with applique. Super cool stuff. Sashiko is easy, fun and beautiful. If you can't make the club meeting I will have it at the show too.
Don't forget to get signed up for your fall winter classes, even after registration, you may still take 10% off class supplies when you have paid registration. As of this typing, the website hasn't finished updating, but you can get October from the archives on this blog. Just check the right hand column and click on "September" then October Schedule. See you soon.
