When Life gives you Scraps -- Make Quilts!!!

Good things are going on. I am having a great time piecing the samples for this summers Scrap Therapy projects. They sent me advance copies so I can prepare early. One is called Triple Dip, and it is three projects from one block, done in the colors of Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry, (with whip cream and cherries too!!) The other is called Scrappy Trails, and is a classic block with a positive/negative color pattern and an easy way to do the prairie point border. The quilt from Triple Dip is waiting for borders in the shoppe and Scrappy Trails is about half done on my design wall at home. I never thought it would happen, but I am actually seeing a reduction in the size of my scrap collection. I have also made some really fun projects with little added new fabric, and that is really cool in the current economy. If you haven't gotten into Scrap Therapy, there is a workshop this Friday called Runaway Threads that would be a good introduction. This is "quick corner'" piecing, with no internal matches in the block, and it looks great in any and all colors. There is still room to sign up, but please let me know if you are coming as there is some cutting to be done beforehand, and I need to know how many copies to make of the alternate size information - I have king sized and lap sized requirements too.

This week is busy, the Basket Medallion will begin on Thursday, the new second day is April 9. We have the Thangles you will need all ready to go. This is a great project as is, or as a medallion in a bed sized project. This Saturday is a full day too, I will be teaching at the Super Saturday run by First Dutchess Quilt Guild in the morning, so I won't be in the shoppe until later. Diane will run the Crazy Quilt Club meeting, and my Husband will man the register until I get back. He's a great guy, so be nice to him. The special is on Thimble Berries yardage, most if it retails at $7.95, but on Friday and Saturday all of it is only $5.00 per yard. In addition, if you buy five yards of it in any combination, you may choose one of the Thimbleberries patterns on the pegboard by the register for free. It's a very good deal.

Lastly, I need to let you know that the Shoppe will be closed on Tuesday March 31, I need to attend a meeting in Westchester. I am sorry if it causes you any trouble. So keep busy, keep sewing, and don't forget to stop by the Shoppe this week for your Scrap Therapy!!
