First, here are photos of this month's blocks for Fact's and Fabrications. We have one more block to go for next month, and then the center medallion and settings and wow what a quilt it will be.
This week we have the Grandmother's Garden on Wednesday. Remember that the sand dune fabric for the background needs to be washed and dried before class.

There is also a Quilts of Valor open sewing day on July 17th. Actually, either of the blocks from the block of the month this time would be great set together and sashed to the correct size. If any of you doing either project let me know and I will work out how many blocks needed for the QOV program. Although the shoppe has been using the split star pattern as the group project, if you wish to donate a complete top (or quilt ) you may use any pattern you wish. Check the Quilts of Valor website for size range. http://www.qov.org/ A woman came in last week whose son returned home from the service without a hand, and he had already recieved a quilt through this program. She tearfully thanked me for taking part in this program and said that it means so much to her son to know that his sacrifice is appreciated. She asked me not to reveal her or her son's name as her family is working hard to re build thier lives, however I am free to express gratitude to those doing this good work. Join us to help make lives better.
I want to remind you that is is not too early to begin your Holiday sewing either, New Holiday fabrics have started arriving and the Christmas Snippets workshop runs on July 24. You have five months between the workshop and Christmas Eve. You wont need five months for the project though, The snippets technnique is fun, easy and fast. You will find yourself whipping these up for everyone on your list. This wreath is great in holiday colors, but need not be, it can easly be customized for any decor, or if holidays get you excited, you may adapt the project to a tree just as easliy. Do call to register.
Lastly I want to remind you that we will be closed July 18-22. I know it's hard to go that long without your fabric fix, but hang in there and I will be back soon. Use the time to finish that UFO!! See You Soon!!
