New colors of Gilded Greenery from Blank Textiles are freshly arrived. These are classic design, a tiny touch of gilding, and wonderful rich colors that blend perfectly with the new spring colors of other lines. Come check them out. The Gilded Greenery line is also our special this Saturday, at 10% off.
We have Block Busters this evening and we will be working with free form curved piecing. You may have heard Ricky Timms call this Caveman Piecing. He did an episode of Simply Quilts explaining it, and now you have a chance to try it. One of this months Blocks for the Facts and Fabrications Block of the Month is also curved piecing. The next meeting for them is this Saturday.
The peach basket is also coming soon. We have the baskets that form the base o f this project, they are $6.00 each. If you want to join this group please sign up ahead of time as there is a bit of prep work. The workshop is all day (10-4, with lunch break ) on April 23. This is different than listed on the website so please check your calendars.
Blended Medallion begins this week as well. Let us know if you still need the Blended Quilts Two book, we will put one aside for you. Diane has been a busy lady, with the heart and nine patch running now, blended Medallion ready to begin, and her version of the upcoming Magic Vine Quilt is nearly finished. Wait till you see. I promise to get an image up asap. Also based on that book is the one session technique workshop on scalloped bindings. The special ruler and very good instructions will have you making fancy edgings on all your projects. You need a project ready to finish, even if it is only a pillow front. Call or stop by for more information.
Lastly, If you have been watching, HGTV has been moving around the air times for Simply Quilts, and their sister station the DIY network has eliminated it totally from its lineup. If the lack of quilt related programs bothers you, I encourage you to contact the networks, and even you local PBS stations and let them know. It takes about five minutes to send an e-mail, and if they hear from us and know what we want then they are much more likely to continue that type of programming. In the meantime, I have an extensive collection of episodes taped. I will have to make do with that. See you soon.
