I am not sure it really means anything anymore, but the birds were very noisy this morning. Can you tell I can't wait for Spring? At least the Cadbury Eggs are available. If you need some flowers in your life, you can still sign up for the snippets class for this Wednesday. These ones won't ever wilt, bloom even if it snows again, and you will have a great time making this project. This technique has many applications and you may find yourself making lots of these.
Another technique that is easier than it looks is the Winding Ways method. The block is so graphic and striking in either two colors, or scrappy that you may have to make several of these also. I have seen this block in several magazines lately, it is stunning, and we have room in the workshop yet for you, just call us to register.
The last March workshop I want to tell you about is the raised embroidery lamb. It uses basic stitches, like running stitch, french knots and stem stitch, to make a great piece of embroidered art. This is a one night class in having fun with stitchery.
This Saturday feed sack and thirties prints are 20% percent off. This is a great place to start collecting for the Magic Vine workshop in May. The cheerful prints and playful motifs of these pastels work well for florals, the classic thirties scrap quilt, and even in quilts for kids. Don't miss this sale!!!
This Tuesday eveing the blockbusters will meet and begin working the chapter on fabric collage. Bring a 9 x 12" background and three or four analagous colors of fabric chunks with fusible web on the back. You may also want your own scissors, and a pencil.
See you soon.
