New Example of an Art Quilt

As I write this, it is pouring rain. It's the perfect day to play with a new project, preferably in some nice bright cheerful colors to offset the grey sky. I am working some samples for the Tucked sashing Workshop I am doing on Saturday for Wiltwyck Guild.- and wishing they were a brighter color. My Husband and Daughter will man the shoppe while I am there teaching.

The special is Thangles packs for $3.50, - they are regularly $5.00. These paper foundation strips for half square triangles increase accuracy, reduce yardages needed, and are easy. They come in finished sizes from 1/2" for you miniature quilt makers, up to six inch finished. If you haven't tried them yet, you need to. Pick a size, cut some strips, and practice by making a simple block or two into potholders - they make great gifts at the holidays!

Lastly, I want to show you the first finished Art Quilt by Pat Ruff. She has joined our Art Quilt Club and contributed to our class example program with this lovely lady. This piece is about the size of a sheet of computer paper, or Journal size. The small size format encourages experimentation, and increases the frequency of finishing. If you are ready to step into the world of quilt art ( and it really is a small step ) consider joining us at the next meeting. Everyone has an inner artist, We can help you let her out!!
