There is no special this weekend, as we will be closed for the Thanksgiving weekend. (Thursday-Saturday) However there are excellent sales coming over the next few weeks so don't despair. I want to extend thanks to the members of Wiltwyck Quilters Guild for hosting me for my workshop on Tucked Sashing. I think we all enjoyed it, and I can't wait to see your finished examples. This is one of those unexpected techniques that looks more difficult than it is. The photos below are a full shot and detail from my Christmas version of the workshop sample. There is another one by a student in the gallery on the website proper.
If you are in the mood for some holiday sewing, there is a really nice easy and quick stocking pattern to download for free at www.artgirlz.com Once there click on free patterns in the left column, then holiday stocking. You can vary this basic pattern in lots of ways and it could be great fun to play with, but still simple enough that you could make matching ones for the whole family by this Christmas.
Those of you who are coming, or want to (we still have two more spaces) attend the Waves Pebbles and puzzles quilting class, need to bring a quilt sandwich ready to go. For learning purposes, fat quarters are good, and the thread should contrast. If you have a pair of paper scissors you may want them too. See you then.
