The Cardinal is one of my favorite birds, the female that lives in our yard has been named Carly by my daughter. We hardly ever see her bright red mate, so I imagine that he is here at the shoppe in our sample, keeping an eye on me. This block has several setting options, and you may even find yourself getting a jump on next years holiday sewing. There is more information on the workshop on the workshops page here. We have a few people signed up, but without a few more, not yet enough to run the class. I hate to disappoint any of you. The block will be done before you leave class, so it is a good one to get you back in the swing without making a big commitment to a new project. Please come take this workshop.
The Art Quilt Club will meet on Tuesday to discuss how the quilting design impacts the whole look of the piece.
On Thursday, at 11 am we will have a short meeting about the Red Hook Bicentennial Quilt. If you are interested in this project you are welcome to join us.
If you are going to be in Albany and like to look at quilts, there is a show at The Social Art Gallery You can get a peek at the quilts at http://www.fcscapitalregion.org/en/fcscapitalregion/The_Threads_That_Connect_Us_Exhibition_p3135.html
Nancy Eha, my favorite Beader has been interviewed by Bonnie McCaffery, and she demonstrates the Beaded Lazy Daisy Stitch. If you like embellishment or beads check it out at http://www.bonniemccafffery.com/vidcasts/054.html
I think that stitch would be fun to add to some of the Block of the month blossoms. It's never too late to join in this one, the project is off to a great start but it will be even more exciting when more of you get involved.
Feel free to contact us by phone, email, or better yet come visit. See You Soon.
