Precision

If you have been watching the Olympics, you know that the way to the medal podium is precision. In many events, things are measured in tenths and hundreths of a second. Having a full second cushion can feel like a luxury. Even the opening ceremonies were all about precision, all those drummers, dancers, and performers were as synched as though a computer was running the whole thing. If that doesn't require precise control!! I always watch these kind of sporting events with a certain kind of amazement. If these people can perform like they do, how come so many quilters (including myself) have had so much trouble keeping a consistent quarter inch seam? I intend to keep practicing it till it is always perfect. We have some nice opportunities for you to do some quarter inch training coming over the next few weeks.

Tomorrow is the Raggy Purse Workshop, from 10-3. You can bring lunch, or I have local menus
available. Don't forget that there is some cutting to do before class. Friday we have anopen sewing day for Quilts of Valor if you want to show your support for another kind of American Hero.

The Dutchess County Fair is fast approaching. I want to congratulate all of you who entered work. You have all trained hard and deserve praise. As we did last year, I invite any of you who show at the fair to show with us directly following. Many have appreciated the chance to get a bit closer and really see the great work you all do. While you are visiting the fair, check out the First Dutchess Hertiage Quilters Booth. There you will find more great quilts, some friendly people willing to chat about their favorite pastime, and flyers from the Village Fabric Shoppe. Be sure to pick up one of the flyers and use it, as it has a special offer on it.

To help you carry all the good stuff you will win, or buy at the fair and else where, I want to introduce the new canvas tote bags from The Village Fabric Shoppe. They will normally sell for $5.50. This Saturday you can get yours for $4.50. Save tree and show off your favorite shop at the same time. See you soon!
