call for entries

I am preparing a show for the gallery space to hang during Apple Blossom festival and for two weeks during May. The working title is "Nifty Nine Patch" If you have any quilts that you would allow us to hang that use the humble nine patch in any way, please bring them in to the shoppe this week. I need to have them by May 6 at the very latest. the pieces can be only tops, but definitely need a label on the back with your name and phone number. (can be a paper pinned on )

Also on Apple Blossom, May 10, there will be a "sew in" into make nine patches for the quilt for Sean Murphy. Machines and materials will be on hand so you can come in and participate. There will be volunteers to help any non quilters learn to make a block too. check previous posts here to get more details on this project.

I need to inform you that there has been a date change for the Crazy Shortcut Quilt workshop. Class is now scheduled to run on the 14th and the 28th of May, from 6:30-9:30. This super project is quilt as you go, lightly embellished by machine, and although the class project is a table runner and matching place mats, this can easily be customized to make any sire quilt you desire. Stop at the shoppe and browse through the book. You will get inspired.

I told you all about the Magic Vine workshop last week, there is just a bit more room in that class. There is also room in the scalloped binding technique workshop, call or visit to register for either of these.

The Block of the Month will meet this Saturday, and hand stitchers will meet this coming Tuesday, we will work on bananas, pears, lettuce, and nectarines for our embroidery. Check your book for needed colors and supplies. We will do the flower basket in June, then we can put it all together.
